Multi-functionality is a driving force of innovation in the beauty category. From NASA technology in devices to innovative ingredients in formulations the beauty market is poised for growth.

Big technological innovations in the beauty market eventually progress and trickle down into accessible beauty fixes for the mass market. Here are some innovations impacting the beauty market today:

Color Cosmetics: Women want products designed for convenience and simplicity, like cream crayons that could be used for both the lips and cheeks.

Beauty Tools: One Bio-Tech company is incorporating NASA technology in a light-based skin care system that works by stimulating blood flow and circulation. Light therapy increases cellular growth by up to 200% and can speed up the healing process.

Hair: For hair removal - Tria Hair Removal Laser for home use, uses the same diode laser technology preferred by many dermatologists to aim for the hair follicle. For hair drying - advanced hair dryers, curlers and straighteners boast technology that protects hair from heat and utilizing technology that takes the moisture from the hair and in the air, and uses it to create tiny, moisture-rich particles that penetrate the shafts of hair.

Skincare: In anti-aging and beauty trends, the desire is for more natural ingredients. According to a recent anti-aging survey, 76% of respondents concerned with aging report being interested in products containing natural or organic ingredients.

Cash-strapped consumers demand smarter products that offer more than one benefit. Consequently, products that are designed to both hydrate and contain antioxidants generate the highest levels of interest among consumers. BeautedeParis’ top rated wrinkle cream contains Alpha-lipoic acid, a very powerful antioxidant, moisturizer and free-radical scavenger. In addition to its multi-peptide technology to help stimulate collagen, it also consists of Hyaluronic Acid an extremely powerful moisturizer that is crucial to the body’s synthesis of collagen and elastin and Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorabte a special Vitamin-C Ester known to penetrate the skin and deliver 50-times the active Vitamin-C as Ascorbic Acid. <![CDATA[How to Prevent Wrinkles]]> http://www.beautedeparis.com/blog/How-to-Prevent-Wrinkles/ The best way to prevent wrinkles is stop them from forming in the first place. Skin loses moisture and elasticity, making it prone to wrinkles as we age. Your genes only govern 30% of how you age; the other 70% is affected by lifestyle choices. One of the best gifts you can give your skin is to protect it from the sun. The formation of wrinkles is caused by mutations. A study found that aged skin that hadn't been exposed to the sun had about 3,800 genetic mutations, whereas skin that had been exposed to the sun had around 10,000 mutations in the same genes.

What are some other things you can do to help prevent wrinkles?

  1. Load up on antioxidants. Whether it’s eating, drinking or slathering on the anti-oxidants these anti-aging friendly molecules help your body defend against free radicals. Radicals can latch onto your DNA and cause the mutations that cause wrinkles. Using wrinkle creams that contain anti-oxidants are a great way to combat wrinkles and fine lines.

  2. Splash cold water on your face. This stimulates micro-circulation. Splashing the face with cold water contracts the pores, sealing them off from allowing contamination by the spreading of dirt and bacteria. Cold water also helps to regulate body temperature, slows the heart rate, and reduces anxiety. Athletes use cold water as a post workout-strategy to help muscles recover by decreasing inflammation and swelling. In terms of facial anti-aging the cold water helps to reduce puffy eyes, tighten pores, promotes blood circulation and enhances the brightness of the face, and tones the face and allows the skin to look young longer.

  3. Sleep on your back. Sleeping on the back helps prevent the sheets and pillows from causing sleep lines which can eventually become wrinkles.

  4. Stop Smoking. Smoking can damage collagen, and the lip pursing that comes with smoking directly creates wrinkles. Smokers are almost 5 times more likely to show excessive wrinkling than nonsmokers.

  5. Don’t squint. Wearing sunglasses helps to prevent squinting, which contributes to wrinkling around your eyes. In addition, the sunglasses protect the delicate skin around your eyes from the sun.

Remember, one of the easiest and long lasting benefits for treating your skin and combating wrinkles it to apply a wrinkle cream every morning and night. This helps address the important skin care concerns of moisturizing and protecting facial skin. Look for a wrinkle product with hydrating moisturizing agents Acid) and Sodium Hyaluronate (Hyaluronic protective antioxidants such as Alpha lipoic or A-lipoic acid. For best wrinkle fighting choose a wrinkle-fighting cream that is formulated with peptides – look for Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 and Palmitoyl Oligopeptide. Peptides are an amino acid and the one skincare ingredient you need to combat wrinkles. Peptides help to produce collagen, rebuilding and replenishing collagen shows positive results for anti-aging. <![CDATA[Best Way to Brighten Skin Tone]]> http://www.beautedeparis.com/blog/Best-Way-to-Brighten-Skin-Tone/ You may be one of the millions of women seeking a brighter, smoother, more even skin complexion, and yes, more radiant even skin tone is possible without sanding off layers of skin or peeling off your skin’s upper layers with acid chemicals. Frankly, some beauty treatments can be very frightening, painful and expensive, but there are alternative options available that won’t hurt or cost you a second mortgage on your home!

Here is what you want to AVOID:

Chemical peels -- use a liquid acid to remove the skin’s upper layers. Peels applied by physicians are intense, and recovery time varies. Post-operative instructions call for limited activities in order to speed up the healing process and recovery time. The skin will have a pinkish color, and a thin crust may form over the area that was treated. Patients report moderate pain associated with the procedure. Deep chemical peels involve a longer procedure and longer recovery time that lasts up to several months in some cases. Patients with fair skin and light hair are the best chemical peel candidates. Cost of chemical facial peels is approximately $600 to $900 while deep chemical peels are generally the most expensive, as much as $6000.

Dermabrasion, which uses a tool like a sander, is a non-chemical, non-invasive procedure that uses a spray of microcrystals to remove the outermost layer of dry, dead skin cells. Dermabrasion is a more intensive procedure than microdermabrasion and is used to treat deeper facial lines, extreme sun damage, and scars.Dermabrasion can cost as little as $800, but larger, more intensive treatments can climb into the $4,000 range. The costs of anesthesia factor heavily into the procedure because dermabrasion is a more intense treatment than microdermabrasion and chemical peels.

Painfree, Affordable Skin Brightening – What You Can DO:

Try using a daily Skin Brightener Formula, designed to promote brightened skin tone and help reduce the appearance of age spots, freckles and blotches. Clinically tested Skin Brightener Formulas have been shown to improve the appearance of age spots, and reduce skin spots up to 66% for some users, according to independent laboratory tests. An average reduction of 50% of appearance of age spots, skin spots and visual brightening of skin tone of up to 55% for some users . Look for a skin brightener formula that is 100% Hydroquinone free, as hydroquinone has been found to be a carcinogen. Look for these researched and proven ingredients:

Alpha-Arbutine is a naturally derived substance, usually found in cranberries, blueberries and pears with melanin-inhibiting properties.

Beta hydroxy acid (BHA) such as Salicylic acid, have been researched and shown to penetrate into the pore (AHAs do not), and therefore exfoliate both inside the pore and on the surface of the skin. It is an effective exfoliate, but also an anti-irritant.

Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate is a specific form of Vitamin-C that is used for its brightening / whitening effect on the skin.

<![CDATA[Face Saving Wrinkle Technology and Research]]> http://www.beautedeparis.com/blog/Face-Saving-Wrinkle-Technology-and-Research/ Researchers are always studying new ingredients and combinations of ingredients that work synergistically for combating aging. Whether it is in the foods your eat, vitamins and supplements as well as anti-aging skin care products, each year new ingredients emerge as stars in the battle against aging. Check out some of the VIP ingredients for combating the look of lines and wrinkles.

A-Lipoic Acid
A powerful antioxidant, moisturizer and free-radical scavenger that helps to neutralize free radicals. Known as the “universal antioxidant because it regenerates or recycles other antioxidants like vitamin C and vitamin E. Not only is it a potent antioxidant, it has the power to fight inflammation which can damage skin cells that produce collagen and elastin, the elements that keep skin looking youthful.

Palmitoyl Oligopeptide and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 (Matrixyl 3000)

Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7 used in conjunction with Palmitoyl-Oligopeptide these two peptides produce a synergy when used together, meaning the effect together is greater than either one alone. Together, they boost the growth of the connective tissues and naturally increase the production of collagen in the skin; encouraging the skin to heal and rejuvenate itself. Studies have shown the combination of these peptides to reduce the appearance of wrinkle depth, improve skin roughness and significantly increase the look of firmness.

Vitamin A, Retinyl Palmitate

While Retinyl Palmitate is not the same ingredient as retinol, it is converted to retinol, and then to the active component of retinoic acid (known as tretinoin), once it is absorbed by the skin after being topically applied.Retinyl palmitate is considered a less irritating form of retinol, and a gentler ingredient on sensitive skin. This ingredient is best known for its ability to regenerate collagen and elastin to prevent the appearance of aging skin, wrinkles, and fine lines.

Vitamin C, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate

A stable, oil-soluble form of Vitamin C, used to increase collagen levels, reduce melanin production, brighten skin, and repair the effects of UV exposure and other environmental damage. Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate has the ability to stimulate the skin to produce natural moisturizers, acting both as an antioxidant and a direct stimulant of new collagen.

Vitamin E, Tocopheryl Acetate

An antioxidant superstar, vitamin E is one of the most well-researched antioxidants. Tocopheryl Acetate is a natural skin-conditioning agent and antioxidant, its substantiated benefits include enhancing the efficacy of active sunscreen ingredients, reducing the formation of free radicals from exposure to UV rays, promoting the healing process, strengthening the skin's barrier function, protecting the skin barrier's lipid balance, and reducing trans-epidermal water loss.

Bearberry

Bearberry extract turns up more and more often in skincare. It contains something called arbutin, which is a natural skin brightener which help to combat freckles and age spots. Faster and more effective than kojic acid (another common skin brightener) and hydroquinone, once the most popular lightener/brightener, until it was found to have carcinogenic properties. Bearberry is particularly fascinating because it has sun protection properties and may actually reduce the degree of skin tanning after sun exposure.

Sweet Almond

Contains vitamins E, A and D and is rich in oleic and linoleic acids. Almonds trap moisture in the skin keeping it hydrated at all times. Almonds have a calming effect and help to soothe minor wounds, chapped skin, skin allergies and inflammation.

Sesame Seed Oil

Sesame oil is full of ingredients that greatly benefit the look and texture of skin. High in vitamins A and E, which are effective at reducing fine lines and wrinkles, and fatty acids such as oleic, palmitic, stearic and linoleic acid, which are effective moisturizers that keep skin supple and soft and can help improve your circulation. In addition, sesame oil contains antioxidants and sesamol, to counteract free radicals, a principal cause of aging. High in antioxidants, it can also speed wound healing and has been proven effective for soothing eczema or psoriasis. Sesame seed oil has inflammatory, antibacterial and anti-fungal properties which fight against developing blackheads and blemishes.

Cucumbers

Cucumber’s hydrating water content, lends the skin moisture, reduces puffiness, and contains vitamin C and caffeic acid, both of which soothe inflamed or irritated skin. Cucumber also offers antioxidants, which combat skin-damaging free radicals.

Licorice

Skin-care products that contain licorice extract have been shown to effectively treat skin disorders such as rosacea, eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis. Licorice extract is also an anti-inflammatory and contains Licochalcone, which helps to regulate the skin's oil production, making it beneficial in anti-acne skin-care regimens. Licorice has been shown to fade dark spots and blemishes, and lighten skin. Potent antioxidants in licorice extract fight skin-damaging free radicals.

Mango butter

Has natural emollient properties; high oxidative ability; wound healing, and regenerative properties. Mango butter is chock-full of nourishing antioxidants that have a protective effect against UV radiation.

<![CDATA[How to Have a Fresh Looking Face]]> http://www.beautedeparis.com/blog/How-to-Have-a-Fresh-Looking-Face/ Having makeup caked on your face is unnatural and fake looking, particularly in the summer heat. Here is a guide to looking fresh, natural and amazing.

  1. Start by cleaning your face both day and night. Never go to sleep with makeup caked on your face. First of all, it soils your bed sheets and second of all it clogs your pores and causes blemishes. Cleanse with a gentle and mild cleanser to remove all the dirt, oils and pollution that has accumulated on your face from sweating.

  2. Keep brows and lashes groomed and healthy. An eyebrow conditioner or lash serum conditions the hairs keeping them from becoming brittle and breaking. Hydrated brows and lashes will give the appearance of fuller, thicker brows and longer, fuller eyelashes.

  3. Moisturize and Revitalize. To treat your skin and have a healthy glow. Moisturize with a wrinkle cream formulated with peptides to help rejuvenate skin and smooth the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

  4. Brighten and Even Skin Tone. Sun spots and uneven skin tone gives a botchy appearance. Using a skin brightening formula will help to brighten and even out skin tone for a more radiant look and more youthful appearance.

  5. Wear Just A Tad Of Makeup. It's not good to overdo makeup. Use a dab of concealer to hide unwanted blemishes. Apply with a light touch a little dusting of blush, neutral eyeliner and a neutral lip gloss. A tiny bit of bronzer to give a sun-kissed look.

In addition to keeping your face looking fresh and clean, follow suit with your entire person. A glowing, clean look from head to toe keeps you looking and feeling attractive. It should go without saying but be sure to:

  • Shower every day. Washing off dirt and grime will keep you smelling clean. Follow with antiperspirant deodorant to keep odors at bay all day long. Reapply as needed.

  • Brush your teeth, morning and night. A quick gargle of mouthwash between meals helps to keep breath minty fresh all day.

  • Wash hair frequently. Most people require a washing every other day, oily hair requires daily washing. Keep hair styles neat and tidy to look your best.

  • Wear clean, well-fitting clothing. Clothes ripped with holes or stained will make you appear frumpy and shabby.

  • Stand straight. Slouching and standing all hunch over makes you appear dirty, sloppy and lacking confidence.

Just minutes a day is all it takes to keep your appearance looking clean, fresh and attractive. Investing in quality skin care products will help your face to stay clear, radiant and more youthful looking. Follow beauty products on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/BeauteDeParis

<![CDATA[Anti-Aging Facial Acid Guide]]> http://www.beautedeparis.com/blog/Anti-Aging-Facial-Acid-Guide/ It sounds shocking at first, yet the right acids can actually help improve the skin. Facial acids can eliminate rough skin, soothe blemishes, plump up skin cells and smooth away fine lines. Anti-aging acids can help you turn back time and renew your skin.

Salicylic acid. How it works: This anti-aging acid prevents pores from clogging by slowing the shedding of cells inside hair follicles, helping to loosen dry, scaly skin. When salicylic acid is used alongside other age-fighting ingredients it allows them to penetrate more deeply.

Stearic acid, a surfactant, is a powerful cleanser. A surfactant is a compound that helps reduce water's surface tension, allowing it to mix with oils.

Citric Acid, when applied to skin, can slough off dead skin cells and speed new cell turnover which will promote new skin growth that can help alleviate the appearance of age spots, acne scars, small wrinkles and areas of uneven tone and texture.

A-Lipoic Acid or alpha lipoic acid has been directly linked to skin care as a primary antioxidant that prevents aging and inflammation. The metabolic antioxidant alpha lipoic acid is often called "the universal antioxidant" because it is soluble both in water and in fat. In addition, it is 400 times stronger than vitamins E and C combined. Plus A-Lipoic Acid has the ability to penetrate the skin's surface and the skin cell membrane and therefore benefits both the inside and outside of the skin cell.

Lebrillenc Skin Brightener Formula is formulated with both Salicylic acid and Stearic acid. Designed to promote a brightened skin tone and help to reduce the appearance of age spots, sun spots, freckles and blotches.

Wrinkle Redeaux is formulated with Citric Acid, Stearic acid and A-Lipoic Acid to Wrinkle Cream formula designed to promote the appearance of reduced wrinkles and fine lines and help discourage the formation of new ones.

Maintain the feeling of plump, supple and smooth skin with anti-aging facial acids. Choose products that have been clinically tested by a reputable company. BeautedeParis.com’s products have earned a Good rating of 4.6 out of 5 for excellent products and customer service.

<![CDATA[Eyelash Growth Life Cycle]]> http://www.beautedeparis.com/blog/Eyelash-Growth-Life-Cycle/ Little girls like to make a wish on a fallen eyelash but broken and fallen eyelashes are no laughing matter. Every hair on your body follows a specific growth cycle and will grow to a specific length and then fall out; this is normal and nothing to worry about. All body hair, including eyelashes, completely replaces itself every few years. However, if the cycle is disrupted or accelerated because of harsh treatment, and more hairs than normal fall out, then you can be left with gaping gaps between your eyelashes. The life span of a typical eyelash is roughly 3 months. The length of the eyelash may be dependent upon how many times a person blinks. But have no fear, sparse and stumpy lashes can be helped with a clinically tested eyelash conditioner.

Here is how the normal cycle works:

  1. The growth phase is called the anagen phase –when lashes are actively growing. This phase lasts between 30 and 45 days. Only approximately 40 percent of upper lashes and 15 percent of lower lashes are in the anagen phase at any one time. The lashes will grow to a specific length and then stop.
  2. The transition phase is called the catagen phase. The lash stops growing and the hair follicle shrinks. The crux here is that if an eyelash falls out during this phase, it won't grow back right away because the follicle itself needs to complete this phase before it can transfer on to the next one. The catagen phase lasts between 2 and 3 weeks.
  3. The resting phase is called the telogen phase. This phase can last more than 100 days before the eyelash falls out and a new one begins to grow. It’s normal for several lashes to fall out each day. It usually takes between 4 and 8 weeks to fully replace a missing eyelash.

Not just pretty:

Eyelashes actually serve an important function. They are designed to keep foreign objects from getting into the eyes. Think of eyelashes as sensory hairs that reflexively shut the eyelid whenever it is touched by dirt, dust or other tiny objects that could possibly get in the eye.

“Normal” Lashes:

The upper lash line may typically have double the number of lashes than the bottom. Here is how your lashes stack up:

Upper lash line - 90 to 150 lashes

Lower lash line - 70 to 80 lashes

Lash length - about 10 mm long (just over 3/8 inch)

The importance of Conditioning:

Like the hair on your head, eyelash hairs can become brittle when exposed to the elements or harsh detergents and products. Brittle hairs are more likely to break and fall out. An eyelash conditioner product will have a positive impact on the health of your eyelashes almost immediately, within 2 or more weeks. Using it every evening will impact the appearance of lash length, thickness, fullness and general health of your eyelashes.

Ingredients in eyelash conditioners vary depending on the manufacturer. Be sure to select an eyelash conditioner that contains ingredients designed to nourish lashes so they stay well conditioned and strengthened against premature breakage. Look for ProVitamin B5, Hyaluronic Acid, Pumpkin Seed and Allantoin.

<![CDATA[Beauty Secrets from the Beauty Blogger]]> http://www.beautedeparis.com/blog/Beauty-Secrets-from-the-Beauty-Blogger/ Beauty blogger Jennifer Hughs recommends these beauty tips to help keep skin looking youthful, clear and bright. Combat lines and wrinkles and blemished skin by following these simple tips.

HYDRATE: The best thing you can do for your appearance is to drink lots of water. Hydration helps your skin stay moisturized and glowing, boosts your metabolism, and keeps your energy levels up. Apply a wrinkle cream both day and night to hydrate the skin topically. Look for a wrinkle cream with Hyaluronic Acid.

KEEP HANDS CLEAN: If you break out on your chin and jawline often, try using and keeping a hand sanitizer next to your desk or wash hands frequently with soap and water. People often unconsciously touch and lean the chin into their hands while working, causing dirt and bacteria on the hands to spread and trigger a breakout-on the face.

FACE WASHING. A mistake people often make is to cleanse the face with a too-harsh cleanser. A lighter cleanser will still keep skin clean without stripping protective oils from the skin. Have oily skin? Use a heavy-duty cleanser at night but switch to a lighter cleanser in the AM.

MOISTURIZE : Especially at bedtime. After cleansing follow with a wrinkle cream and eye cream. The cream will sink in at night and help repair and restore while the body is at rest. Restore while you repose. Wrinkle cream used in the evening, at bedtime, when the body is in resting mode helps optimize the skin's downtime and helps to improve the visual signs of aging while you sleep. Look for a wrinkle cream that in addition to Hyaluronic Acid also contains A-Lipoic Acid - a very powerful antioxidant, moisturizer and free-radical scavenger.

GOT THIN BROWS? Restore the fuller, thicker look of youthful brows with a brow conditioner enhancingr serum. Applied nightly by flicking a thin layer of eyebrow enhancer serum to the skin at the base of the eyebrows up through the brow hairs. All it takes is a few seconds. Notice the appearance of fuller, thicker brows in just weeks.

DON’T SKIP EYE CREAM. Do you really need a specialized moisturizer for your eyes? Unlike skin on the rest of your face, the eye area does not contain oil glands that help keep this skin moist. This is why beauty experts recommend using a separate eye cream. Refresh eyes during the day by lightly tapping eye cream on the under eye area—even over makeup is okay. It’s refreshing and keeping the eye area moisturized makes it more youthful looking. Remember to apply again before bed. Choose an eye cream with peptides to fight lines and wrinkles as well as Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, a form of Vitamin-C used to cause a brightening effect on the appearance of the skin.

UNCLOG PORES: As some women get older they notice that they tend to get more clogged pores and blackheads. The solution? Use a retinoid cream particularly on chin, nose, and forehead. Do this regularly, and skin should look smoother, and help to avoid breakouts. Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin-A) promotes cell turnover and helps to keep skin clear and smooth looking.

<![CDATA[Tips for Bigger and Brighter Eyes]]> http://www.beautedeparis.com/blog/Tips-for-Bigger-and-Brighter-Eyes/ Look younger with simple skin treatments advice from the pros. According to many celebrated makeup artists, intensifying lashes and brows is a guaranteed way to open up the look of your eyes, since thick hair is a sign of youth. Consider boosting your lashes with and brows with an eyelash or brow enhancing serum. These serums and formulated with conditioning ingredients that are known to help stimulate the appearance of hair growth.

These “hair boosting” ingredients work synergistically to nourish and provide moisture to eyelashes, amplifying their growth potential.

Hyaluronic Acid – a potent
moisturizer, thought to stimulate blood vessels to promote hair growth.

ProVitamin B5 -
Moisturizes and strengthens hairs, helping to promote lash flexibility and durability.

Biotin -
Helps to fortify lash and brow hairs against breakage. Known as the "hair growth vitamin" biotin promotes hair growth and protects against breakage.

Pumpkin Seed –

After treating the natural lashes and brows to enhance the appearance of growth, using makeup as a further tool for special occasions will add more pop. Another tip for bigger, bolder eyes is to line eyes with a “flick”. The secret is to use a liquid eyeliner: Create the outer flicks first using a felt tip eyeliner. Next, trace the upper lash line with a black eyepencil, then repeat and go over the lash-line with liquid liner, starting from the outer corners. Finish the look with a lash-curling mascara.
