Celebrities like Ashley Olson, Hayden Panettiere, Anne Hathaway and Megan Fox have been sporting thicker, fuller eyebrows. The trend is catching on and an increasing number of women are trying to mimic these bushier brows (which isn’t always the easiest thing to do, seeing as you can easily get stuck in a rut when you’ve been over plucking for years).
If you’re not yet convinced that thicker eyebrows are the way to go, consider these benefits for a moment:
- It will make you look younger. Thicker eyebrows are usually associated with youth, which is one of the reasons women are moving away from the thinly plucked eyebrow look. A number of celebrity make-up artists have said that thicker eyebrows can literally take years off your face, which may be one of the reasons that older stars such as Tyra Banks have also been seen sporting this look.
- Less maintenance: While many people get their eyebrows professionally shaped once a month, the rest of us less fortunate ladies – whose eyebrows grow quickly – need to remove dark hairs at least once a week. Thicker eyebrows doesn’t mean that you don’t have to take extra care when shaping and maintaining them, but it does mean that you won’t have to spend quite as much time plucking and tweezing.
There are a few options that you can consider when looking to enhance the appearance of thicker, fuller eyebrows. One option is to just stop plucking for a few months. This option sounds easy enough, but it can be as frustrating as trying to grow out a badly cut short hair style. You’re going to have to exercise a bit of self-control to not cave in and start plucking again – especially if your eyebrows are the type to grow back slowly.
Another option would be hair transplants. This may seem a bit extreme, but it’s not only men with receding hairlines who are turning to plastic surgeons and hair transplant specialists to increase the number of hairs on their head. More and more women are also getting hair transplants to make their eyebrows thicker. If you’re considering this option, remember that it’s quite expensive and you will have to make peace with swollen patches on your face during the recovery period.
The last option is to invest in a natural eyebrow conditioning serum that will revitalize and condition the eyebrow hairs. Shop around before you decide on a product and make sure it’s been independently tested and formulated with quality ingredients.
